Below is a list of the Top 12 Songs that add meaning to my life. Each song, having been played on repeat has created the soundtrack of My Journey. I thank this list for helping shape My Life
"Music can heal the wounds,”
that medicine cannot touch”
- Debasish Mridha
With a family from West-By-God-Virgina it almost impossible for this song not to be in My Top Songs List. Growing up we would go to a local restaurant (owned by a former players family) to watch WVU games. After every game, win or lose, I would race to the jukebox to play the song of our people. This song embodies family, and plays a huge part of my childhood #countryroadstakemehome 💛 💙
Christmas 2000 I got my favorite CD Aaron's Party (Come Get It) I played the album on repeat the majority of the week. Memorizing the words to every song, That’s How I Beat Shaq, will remain one of my favorites. When I’m looking for a song to lift my moods and bring out the nostalgia Aaron Carter is certainly a go to.
Speaking of nostalgia, this song is High on the list. A song speaking of breaking ancestral traumas and picking yourself up by your bootstraps, City High’s ‘What Would You Do’ will forever be a favorite anthem.
“Its me. Hi. I’m the problem it’s me” lives rent free in my head. Similar to Taylor, I understand the feelings of self sabotage and self doubt. Sensing family and friend talking about the demise amongst each other has brought anxious and depressive thoughts intruding the stability. Thank you Tay Tay for your vulnerability and sharing your heart with the world.
Always a favorite. My parents both grew up in the 60s and 70s blessing us with great music taste. Anytime this song comes on my mind goes straight to my dad and reminds myself of the blessings God has provided in my life. This song reminds us of the struggle when we allow when we choose our vices over ourselves. The Power of Choice is ours.
Ahhhhh P!nk. To be honest I could make a Top P!nk songs list. She has a song for every vibe as she allows her truth to shine bright within her songs. Just Like A Pill is a beautiful reminder to stand in our power, let go of what does not serve us, and continue to move on.
This song was a favorite of mine while in The Church. I loved the line “People say I’m strange. Does that make me a stranger? My best friend was born in a manger.” I got DOWN to this song yall 😂 I had forgotten about it for many many years. Until I was on a live a few months ago and heard it. And I’ll tell you what, it is beautiful to let my 13 YO self let her heart sing 💕
This song by Superchick was another middle school church Morghan favorite.
“Stand in the rain, Stand your ground. Stand up when it’s all crashing down. Stand through the pain, you won’t drown.” Are the lyrics that got me through many a days in my Suicidal days. Thank you Morghan for waking up another day. We love you.
Ohhhhhhh I recently discovered this song. This song is a happy place of mine. It reminds me of strength and freedom. The purpose of being weird. The love for my heart. And the Freedom of my soul. This song takes my heart to lands i could only dream. Ohhhhhhhh this song 😊
Tom Mother Fucking Macdonald. Controversy as he may be. That man is impressive. Using his authentic self to grow himself into a business and life. Props to you man.
The song Best Rapper Ever is a motivation of mine. It talks about our demons and the intrusive thoughts that creep in to prevent us from achieving our goals. When I want to improve in my life I will sing this song and replace the word rapper.
I’m the best server ever.
The best sister ever.
The best me.
Thank you Tom for changing my life. I appreciate your art.
Woman. In. Total. Control of. Herself.
Damn that hits hard. What a power anthem to remind us of the bad ass witches amongst us. We have control. And as we chose ourselves, my what a beautiful world we will create.
This song man. This song keeps me going. In a time I began starting over. Beginning anew. And fresh. This song reminds me to fly. We have left the lack mentality and are focusing on the freedom of our authentic selves.
Love you Maria. You can count me in 💜
